Jesus Information

About Jesus Seekers

faith • heaven • hell • salvation • Bible • God • eternity

Jesus Seekers - and the Jesus information it provides - grew of out of calling a few years ago to encourage non-believes to seek Jesus first and then worry about what church you'll attend or how you're faith will develop. The idea even applies to existing believers who maybe need to rediscover him, seeking to deepen their relationship with him regardless of what church they attend.

I recognize that some people, perhaps by culture or upbringing, focus more on God than the person of Jesus. They honor God with their lives, their money, their prayers. They try to be obedient to his will, repenting of sin throughout their lives.

Just as this site urges visitors to "live for Jesus," they live for God. They sincerely seek to love the Lord with all their heart, mind and soul. And I guess that's OK considering that Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are one.

But sometime in their lives (maybe soon), I hope these people accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, that they recognized that he paid the debt for their sins and that they thanked him for dying on the cross. Whether they're living for "God" or even "the Lord," the aim should be to die to self, a life of self-sufficiency..

In the end, I believe he will judge us on whether we love him as Lord. Did we seek him? Did we let him into our hearts? Did we get to know him? Did we love him? And I can't help but think he'll really want to know whether we "fed his sheep," for that would be a real indication of whether we truly loved him.

I developed this site from a diverse range of Christian sources on and off the Internet. The views are from diverse views, including non-denominational churches, Catholics, Baptists and many others. I can't single out one faith or tradition, not when non-believers (the lost) need to find Jesus in the way he reaches them. I need to reflect the beauty of how he pulls that off. He finds some of us when our pride is crushed, some in the midst of physical disease or injury and others who have bottomed out with sex, drug and alcohol addictions. In other words, we're not necessarily in the back pew of a church when it happens.

The body of Christ (the church) is a critical part of any attempt to lead someone to Christ. A pastor, for example, may do a good job of preaching the Good News and someone may understand the message. And a church (thriving among the God-given giftedness of its members) will go out of its way to teach, encourage and rebuke believers (old and new).

But much of the action of the body of Christ happens outside the confines of church walls, through our friendships, in our neighborhoods and at work. That's where non-believers are likely to see Christ or at least discover the hope believers have. Maybe they'll say, "There's something about you."

In time, the non-believer will come to know (with the prompting of the Holy Spirit) the simple truth that sinners will live eternity apart from God unless they accept the finished work of Christ who died for them in their place on the cross. Whether the changes take place right away or gradually, this new believer must put him first and live for him.

I pray that some people visiting this site will indeed give Jesus a chance and let him begin a work in their lives. If through this ministry he reaches one soul, the site has achieved its mission.
